Govinda seems to be on a roll, signing the third film after announcing his comeback to Bollywood
The actor has signed director duo Raj and DK’s next film tentatively titled Happy Ending, co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Ileana D’Cruz.
The actor is already working in Vipul Shah’s remake of Tamil blockbuster Thuppaki, directed by AR Murgodoss. Govinda will also play a negative lead for the first time in Aditya Chopra’s Kill Dil, helmed by Shaad Ali.
Says Raj Nidimoru, “We have been huge fans of Govinda for a long time and we thought that it would be a great idea to have him in the film. He is a great addition to our cast and comedy is his strength.”
After a string of flops at the box office, sources from the industry say Govinda was on an all-time low. An insider says, “He hit the gym, got back into shape and disciplined himself to ensure that his comeback would be bigger and better. That he has signed three big banner films proves he is back with a bang.”
There was also buzz a while ago that Govinda could soon be doing a film with his Partner co-star Salman Khan.

A bitchy actress called to say that the tagline of Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming film with Akshay Kumar reads: 'This time it is personal'
Considering that the film is locking horns with the Rohit Shetty directed Shah Rukh Khan starrer, is this her way of saying it loud and clear to get even at the box office?

This is yet another indie film that despite doing the international festival rounds didn't find any takers for a release in India
That was until Kiran Rao decided to present Ship of Theseus after the film impressed her. It has now been selected by the British Council for its list of movies that can change your life.
A source from the organisation says, “A group of critics under the Critics Circle of the British Council selected the film for the coveted list. Some of the other films that have received the honour are Annie Hall, Raging Bull, The Battle of Algiers and Hamlet.
The film explores questions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death through the stories of an experimental photographer, an ailing monk and an enterprising stockbroker. It has been an eye-opener for a lot of its audience members.”
An ecstatic Gandhi says, “Derek Malcolm, one of the members of the Critics Circle chose my film. It’s an honour to be part of a film that can actually change someone’s life.”

After mesmerising audiences with his performance as mute Barfi in Anurag Basu's film with the same name, the actor is all set to play a detective in the director's next 'Jagga Jasoos'
The 30-year-old, who was present at the special screening of his film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', confirmed the news.
Letting out that he is playing a detective in 'Jagga Jasoos', Ranbir said, "Yes, this is our second film together. It's a detective film."
The film is set to go on the floors next year. Basu has also written the film.
Besides, the actor has two more films with Basu - 'Bombay Velvet' and a biopic on late legendary singer-composer Kishore Kumar. But the biopic has been shelved for sometime.
In a very short time Ranbir has impressed with his acting skills and he gives credit to his late legednary grandfather Raj Kapoor for his success.
"I am standing here just because of Raj Kapoor. He showed me the way," said Ranbir when asked to share some memory of Raj Kapoor, whose 25th death anniversary falls on June 2.
Raj Kapoor, known as the Showman of Indian cinema, proved his mettle with his work in 'Awara', 'Shree 420' and 'Mera Naam Joker'. The winner of two National Awards, nine Filmfare awards and many other recognitions, he gave a strong base to the Indian cinema.
He died on June 2 in 1988.
"I hope he would be smiling at me watching me in the films that I am doing and he is proud of me," said Ranbir, who has carved a niche for himself in his five-year-old career with films like 'Raajneeti', 'Wake Up Sid!' and 'Rockstar' among others.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has denied reports that his mother being the reason behind his split with actress Deepika Padukone, claiming it was their own individual choice
Ranbir, 30, and Deepika, 27, began dating when they met on the sets of 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' in 2008 and the couple split after a year
"It's an issue between two individuals, but people work on several theories and then disturb things. My mother loves me a lot and wants me to live my own life. My mother is also very fond of Deepika. So, at least this was not the reason for the split. I want to clarify, my mother was not the reason for the break-up," Ranbir said on a television show.
There were reports that the actor broke-up with the 'Cocktail' star because Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor did not approve of their relationship. Ranbir attended the show to promote his latest release 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' alongwith co-star Deepika. However, the actress says that despite their break-up Ranbir continues to be one of her good friends who gives his feedback on her performances.
"We have been friends since our break-up and shall continue to remain friends," Deepika added. In Ayan Mukherji directed film, which hit theatres today, Ranbir is seen doing some similar dance steps as his uncle Shammi Kapoor in 'Badtameez Dil'. On being compared with the late 'Junglee' star, Ranbir said, "Let me tell you a big secret. Shammi Kapoor was technically not a good dancer. His steps were wrong, but his greatness was that he brought wonderful expressions while dancing, whether romancing or enjoying himself on screen. I never tried to copy his style. People say there is some shadow of Shammi Kapoor on my dancing because of my family, but I've never copied him."
Ranbir also expressed his desire to work with three Khans - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir - in a film. "Even if they just stand behind my sofa, with me in front, that film would be runaway hit," he said.
